The Treatment
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialised massage technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system, supporting the natural movement of lymph fluid throughout the body. The lymphatic system is a vital network of tissues, vessels, and nodes responsible for filtering and eliminating toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials. Unlike the circulatory system, it has no natural pump, relying instead on muscle movement, breathing, and skilled manual techniques to maintain healthy flow and balance.
When the lymphatic system becomes sluggish or blocked, it can lead to fluid retention, toxin buildup, and a weakened immune system as well as other unwanted symptoms like the appearance of cellulite, feeling of heaviness or pressure in the pelvic region and frequent headaches.
Therefore, the purpose of lymphatic massage is to direct fluid toward the nearest lymph nodes, promoting drainage toward the body’s centre where waste and toxins are filtered and removed before the lymph fluid is returned to circulation.
BENEFITS OF LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
By adding lymphatic drainage to your wellness routine, among the typical benefits, you can enjoy:
By reducing the amount of fluid that presses up against the cross-hatched fibres beneath your skin, removal of metabolic waste and increasing blood flow.
Promotes relaxation and parasympathetic nervous system activation
Alleviates tension and promotes fluid balance, helping to reduce the frequency and intensity of headaches.
Promotes movement of stagnated fluid, easing inflammation and pelvic floor congestion.
Reduces inflammation and detoxifies the skin by eliminating waste and excess sebum, helping to prevent breakouts and ease redness, itching, and dryness often associated with conditions such as acne and eczema.
TREATMENT COURSE & RESULTS
To kickstart your lymphatic system we recommend 1 session a week for 3 weeks and for ongoing general health and wellbeing, one session per month is recommended.
More frequent treatments may be beneficial depending on individual health needs or lifestyle factors such as post-surgery recovery, postpartum support, or excessive swelling and fluid retention.
The Journey
1
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY
During your lymphatic drainage session, you’ll experience 60-75 minutes of gentle, rhythmic movements performed by a skilled therapist, guiding lymph fluid toward your body’s natural drainage points. Our practice incorporates clinical and sculpting techniques for a light and soothing sensation, often described as deeply calming and relaxing.Â
Your session takes place in a serene, tranquil environment providing you with a moment to unwind, disconnect, and focus entirely on your wellbeing. You can simply relax, breathe deeply, and enjoy some much-needed time for yourself.
2
PREPARATION AND AFTERCARE
Staying well-hydrated before and after your session is essential. Light movement, such as walking, is recommended following treatment to support lymph flow and waste elimination.
There is no anesthesia or discomfort involved, lymphatic drainage is a gentle, non-invasive therapy. You may notice a feeling of lightness, reduced swelling, or improved circulation immediately after your session.
3
MAINTENANCE
For optimal wellness benefits, regular sessions are recommended. Most clients enjoy a monthly session for general health, while those with specific needs will benefit from more frequent treatments.
Each client’s journey is unique, influenced by factors such as lifestyle, health status, and individual body response.

faq
No, lymphatic drainage is a gentle and deeply relaxing treatment. While some firmer pressure may be applied to areas such as the abdomen to support digestion, the overall experience is soothing and comfortable, leaving you feeling light, balanced, and rejuvenated.
Many clients notice reduced swelling, a lighter feeling, and improved energy after just 1–2 sessions. For optimal and lasting benefits, consistent treatments are recommended.
Absolutely. Lymphatic drainage complements most wellness and body treatments, including body sculpting, post-surgical recovery, and other therapies as it’s designed to enhance circulation and overall wellbeing.
Lymphatic drainage is a safe, non-invasive treatment. Some clients may experience mild fatigue or a temporary increase in urination as the body naturally eliminates excess fluid – This is a normal and positive indication that your lymphatic system is functioning effectively.
