Post Baby Treatments

Pregnancy is a fulfilling journey that completely transforms your body from the inside out. The female anatomy is an incredible cocoon to protect and nourish our little ones, giving them a safe and warm space to grow, until it is time for them to come into the world.

We hear from our clients that their bodies struggle to bounce back, particularly after their second birth, and no matter what they do, they can’t get back to where they were.

We understand this process, your body goes through incredible changes over the 9-month period, and it is normal that things are not the way they were.

To highlight how common it is to face postpartum challenges, we have collected a few statistics to draw attention to the issues our mothers face:

  • 1 in 3 experience urinary leakage (Continence Foundation Australia)
  • Approximately 1 in 4 are at least 4.5kgs above their preconception weight 9 months after giving birth. (Farpour-Lambert et al. 2018)
  • 2 in 5 are still having challenges with abdominal separation 6 months postpartum (Cleveland Clinic)
  • 9 in 10 see significant and complex skin changes (Vora et al. 2014) and increased cellulite (Tokarska et al. 2018)

We are here to talk about the 4th trimester. As much as you prepare with classes, books, and podcasts nothing can prepare you for the first few months of being home with your newborn. You suddenly have a huge responsibility nurturing your little one and we end up putting ourselves last.

It can be difficult to find the energy, or time, to exercise and eat well which can lead to a decline in body satisfaction and is associated with eating/appetite abnormalities, greater weight, worse mental health, and fewer immediate family relationships (Gjedingen et al. 2010).

Given these challenges, our highly trained therapists are here to help. Whether it’s your first child or your kids are all grown up, we offer packages to boost self-esteem and improve body satisfaction with our range of TGA and FDA approved medical grade technology.

What We Do

Our EXILIS, EMSCULPT, EMTONE and EMSELLA devices are industry-leading tools and best of all, the treatments are quick and non-invasive with visible results after a single session.

Our medical grade device range can be used to treat the common post-partum challenges across, incontinence, stubborn fat, cellulite, loose skin and abdominal separation.

Incontinence

When the baby moves through the birth canal, the canal and pelvic floor are stretched, and over time they can become weak and unable to prevent the bladder from leaking. Leakage can be brought on with a simple cough, sneeze, laugh or movement and is experienced by 1 in 3 women (Continence Foundation Australia) after childbirth.

Leaking cannot be resolved without daily pelvic floor exercises to help strengthen the muscle. However, with the time restraints of a new-born, an astounding number of mothers cannot contract their pelvic floor muscle 1 year after childbirth.

The EMSELLA Chair, is a revolutionary new treatment designed to strengthen the pelvic floor, by sending intense contractions through the pelvic muscles, equating to 11,200 Kegels (Goldstein et al. 2020) in a single, 28-minute, session.

Multiple clinical studies have shown that 95% of treatment patients have reported a significant improvement in their quality of life with a 75% reported reduction in pad use (BTL Aesthetics). No wonder it was voted the “Best Intimate Health Treatment” in the 2022 New Beauty Awards (New Beauty, 2022) and is both FDA and TGA medically approved.

In fact, leakage is so prevalent, that the Australian government supports severe incontinence sufferers under its CAPS program (Continence Aids Payment Scheme) which offers patients $625 per (Services Australia, 2021) year which can go towards Emsella treatments.

Stubborn Fat

Even with proper dieting and exercise, it can be difficult to reduce stubborn fat in areas such as your arms, hips and thighs with 14-to-25% of women being 4.5kgs above their prepartum weight 9 months after childbirth (Farpour-Lambert et al. 2018).

By using EXILIS and EMSCULPT, we can help treat any unwanted stubborn pockets of fat and tone muscles. EXILIS technology causes natural cell elimination and requires no downtime after the treatment. EMSCULPT then builds on this fat reduction by increasing muscle strength and tone while burning fat at the same time.

Cellulite & Loose Skin

Over 90% of women (Vora et al. 2014) see a significant change in their skin postpartum, whether it be cellulite, loose skin, or pigmentation, which can lead to worsening body dissatisfaction and mental health struggles.

Our EMTONE device simultaneously delivers thermal and mechanical energy, feeling like a hot stone massage, to treat all five causes of cellulite and loose skin.

Scientific studies show that a treatment program with EMTONE leads to a 59% increase in collagen, 64% increase in elastin and 44% increase in the thickness of dermis (BTL Aesthetics). So, what does all this mean? EMTONE builds the thickness of the skin, restoring tightness, thereby reducing the appearance of visible cellulite by 93% (BTL Aesthetics)

The EMTONE handpiece can be used to treat the buttocks, abdomen, upper arms, love handles, and thighs and we recommend 5 sessions, each lasting 10 to 20 minutes, to see the best results.

Abdominal Separation

2 in 5 women still have abdominal separation 6 months postpartum (Cleveland Clinic) which is the result of the separation of the two large vertical muscle bands that run in the centre of your abdominals. These muscles are pushed apart to make room for the baby and can result in the appearance of a soft, flabby stomach.

EMSCULPT uses HIFEM (high-intensity electromagnetic energy) to trigger up to 20,000 muscle contractions (also known as crunches), reducing fat and simultaneously building muscle. During a treatment the muscles are contracted to a supramaximal level not achievable in a normal workout.

We recommend 4 to 6 sessions with results improving over 2-4 weeks after your final treatment.
